Dutch fund supports workshops for Cote d’Ivoire young filmmakers

Un fonds Néerlandais finance des ateliers pour jeunes cinéastes 
en Côte d’Ivoire

Le fonds Hubert Bals du Royaume des Pays-Bas a annoncé ce mercredi 26 octobre, l’attribution d’une subvention de 4.500 Euros à l’Association des Jeunes Techniciens de la Télévision et du Cinéma de Côte d’Ivoire (AJTEC-CI). 

Le projet d’Ateliers de Réécriture de Scénarios et de Réalisation soumis par l’AJTEC-CI fait partie des dossiers sélectionnés par le fonds néerlandais cette année. 

« Cette subvention est une grande joie pour nous mais c’est surtout un défi qui nous est lancé. Nous saurons nous montrer dignes de cette confiance placée en notre jeune association, » a dit Honoré Essoh, le Président de l’AJTEC-CI. 

L’organisation ivoirienne va lancer en novembre prochain un concours de scénarios de courts-métrages destinés aux jeunes cinéastes ivoiriens.
 

Les trois meilleurs projets seront sélectionnés et leurs auteurs ainsi qu’une équipe de six jeunes techniciens, participeront aux ateliers soutenus par le fonds Hubert Bals. L’AJTEC-CI et ses partenaires produiront par la suite ces trois scénarios. 

Le Fonds Hubert Bals est rattaché au Festival International du Film de Rotterdam dont la 41^ème édition se tiendra du 25 janvier au 5 février 2012. 

Crée en novembre 2010, l’AJTEC-CI regroupe des jeunes réalisateurs, cameramen, monteurs, scénaristes et autres techniciens de l’image et du son. L’association a pour objectifs de former ses membres et contribuer à redynamiser les secteurs du cinéma et de la télévision en Côte d'Ivoire.

Dutch fund supports workshops for Cote d’Ivoire young filmmakers

The Hubert Bals Fund of the Netherlands announced this Wednesday, October 26, the award of a grant of 4,500 Euros to the Association of Young Television and Film Technicians of Cote d'Ivoire (AJTEC-CI). 

The project of Screenplays Rewriting and Film Directing workshops submitted by AJTEC-CI is part of the applications selected by the Dutch fund this year.

"This grant is a great joy for us but it is also a challenge. We will do our best to prove worthy of the trust placed in our young association," said Honoré Essoh, AJTEC-CI’s President.

The organization will launch in November a contest of short film scripts for Ivorian young filmmakers. The three best projects will be selected and their authors joined by a team of six young technicians, willtake part to the workshops supported by the Hubert Bals Fund. The AJTEC-CI and its partners will then produce the three movies. 

The Hubert Bals Fund is attached to the International Film Festival Rotterdam which 41st edition will be held from January 25 to February 5, 2012.

Created in November 2010, AJTEC-CI includes young directors, cameramen, editors, screenwriters and other sound and picture technicians. The association aims to train its members and help to revitalize cinema and television sectors in Cote d’Ivoire.
